Ingrid Hinojosa, Nurse Practitioner, has been caring for women, men, and children for over thirty years. She began her career in law enforcement as a police officer, then later as an investigator for the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Feeling the need to increase her knowledge in the medical field, Ingrid completed her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1992 from Texas Christian University. Following completion of her nursing degree she joined the United States Air Force Reserves as a commissioned officer and became a flight nurse, as well as attending the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Texas at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Following the completion of the Women’s Health program, she went on to receive her master’s in Women’s Health from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1996. In 1997, she completed her training as an advanced Family Nurse Practitioner from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, followed by advanced training as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2012 from the University of Texas at Austin. She is certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Ingrid’s medical experiences have included working as a hospitalist, family practice, urgent care, pain management, psychiatric, surgical nurse for a neurosurgical/orthopedic practice and health and wellness practitioner. In the past she has owned and operated a family and psychiatric practice and continues to expand her knowledge through additional education and training.
