Grapevine sits in a particular position in the DFW behavioral health landscape. It’s close enough to Fort Worth and Carrollton that either of Clearfork’s main campuses is a reasonable drive, it’s home to a highly-regarded district (Grapevine-Colleyville ISD), and a meaningful share of families work for DFW-adjacent employers (American Airlines, GM Financial, DFW International Airport itself, and a cluster of hospitality and tourism businesses around Main Street and the Gaylord Texan). This combination — choice of two campuses, an academically strong district, and insurance typically tied to major corporate employers — creates a specific set of questions for Grapevine parents considering teen PHP or teen IOP for their adolescent. This page answers them.

Clearfork Academy serves Grapevine teens (ages 13–17) from both our Fort Worth campus (25–35 min via Highway 114) and our Carrollton campus (15–20 min via 121/635). We offer Monday–Friday PHP (9 AM–2 PM), a Wednesday–Friday evening IOP track (5–8 PM), daytime IOP, and statewide virtual IOP. Our clinical team works directly with GCISD counselors and area private schools to protect your teen’s academic year.

Fort Worth Campus or Carrollton Campus — Which Fits Your Grapevine Family?

Grapevine is one of the few DFW suburbs where the drive time to both Clearfork campuses is roughly comparable. The choice comes down to the specific questions:

  • Our Fort Worth campus is 25–35 minutes from Grapevine via Highway 114 west. It’s our larger campus, with the highest concentration of clinical staff on any given day. It’s where the 75+ Google reviews come from. Families who value the size and depth of the Fort Worth program often drive past Carrollton to go here.
  • Our Carrollton campus is 15–20 minutes from Grapevine via Highway 121 and Highway 635. It’s our newer campus, purpose-designed for PHP and IOP programming. For many Grapevine families — especially in south and east Grapevine — this is simply the closer and more convenient option.

Clinically, there is no difference in program quality between the two campuses. Same licensed clinical leadership, same evidence-based modalities, same family therapy model. If you want our admissions team to help you think through which fits your specific situation, that is part of the free phone assessment.

Coordinating With Grapevine-Colleyville ISD

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD (GCISD) serves roughly 13,000 students across Grapevine, Colleyville, and parts of Euless, Bedford, and Southlake. Our academic coordinator works directly with GCISD staff at:

  • Grapevine High School
  • Colleyville Heritage High School
  • Cross Timbers Middle School, Grapevine Middle School, Colleyville Middle School, Heritage Middle School, Grapevine-Colleyville Collegiate Academy

In most cases GCISD counts PHP as excused medical absences, and Home/Hospital-Bound (HHB) status is available for PHP stays expected to exceed four weeks. HHB preserves academic credit for coursework completed remotely during treatment.

Area private schools we coordinate with regularly: Grapevine Faith Christian School, Covenant Christian Academy, The Oakridge School, Legacy Christian Academy, Faith Christian School, All Saints’ Episcopal (Fort Worth), and Fort Worth Country Day. Grapevine Faith Christian — specifically — has a large share of families we serve, given their strong community presence and familiarity with medical-leave processes.

For IOP, your teen stays in school. The Wednesday–Friday 5–8 PM evening track is specifically structured for full daytime school attendance. Most Grapevine IOP families complete the program without missing a school day.

Drive Times From Grapevine Neighborhoods

To our Fort Worth campus:

  • Main Street / Historic District / Grapevine Mills area: 25–30 minutes via Highway 114
  • South Grapevine / Glade Road / DFW Airport–adjacent: 30–35 minutes
  • North Grapevine / Grapevine Lake area: 25–30 minutes
  • Colleyville border: 25–30 minutes

To our Carrollton campus:

  • Main Street / Historic District: 15–20 minutes via Highway 121
  • South Grapevine: 15–18 minutes
  • North Grapevine / Grapevine Lake: 20–25 minutes
  • Colleyville border: 15–20 minutes

For families whose commute genuinely doesn’t work — a single parent with young siblings, families with inflexible work schedules, teens without safe transportation options — our statewide virtual IOP is clinically equivalent to in-person IOP and covered under the same parity provisions by commercial insurance.

Insurance Grapevine Families Use Most

Grapevine’s employment demographics skew toward aviation, hospitality, and financial services — which means a specific insurance mix shows up in our admissions calls:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas — the dominant payer [CONFIRM — in-network status]
  • UnitedHealthcare (UBH/Optum) — common with American Airlines employees and corporate hospitality groups
  • Aetna — common with GM Financial and other major employer groups
  • Cigna (Evernorth Behavioral)
  • Baylor Scott & White Health Plan
  • TRICARE for military families connected to NAS Fort Worth JRB
  • Ambetter (Superior Health Plan) — Marketplace coverage

Our admissions team runs a free benefits verification within 24 hours and gives you a written estimate of out-of-pocket cost before you commit. Financing options are available for families with high-deductible plans.

Why Grapevine Families Choose Clearfork

  • Named, licensed clinical leadership. Founder: Austin Davis, LPC-S (Texas-licensed counselor-supervisor). Every program page lists clinical leadership by name and credential. A surprising number of regional teen PHP/IOP programs do not publicly name their clinical leader. That difference matters both for E-E-A-T search ranking reasons and — more importantly — for clinical accountability.
  • Two-campus choice without cost penalty. Whether your Grapevine teen admits at Fort Worth or Carrollton, the clinical program is identical and the insurance structure is identical. Most DFW-area programs do not give families this geographic flexibility.
  • Full continuum of care. Teen detox, residential (boys Fort Worth, girls Cleburne), PHP, IOP, virtual IOP, alumni. If your teen’s clinical picture escalates, she steps up within the same system. No new intake, no new clinical team, no gap in continuity.
  • Actually-practiced evidence-based modalities. CBT, DBT, EMDR, TBRI, motivational interviewing, family systems therapy — trainings our licensed clinicians actually hold.
  • Faith integration delivered clinically, not cosmetically. Christ-centered in founding philosophy. Opt-in for families who want it; fully secular clinical care for families who don’t.

FAQ: Teen PHP and IOP in Grapevine

Is there a PHP or IOP location inside Grapevine?

Not currently from Clearfork. Our closest campuses are Fort Worth (25–35 min via 114) and Carrollton (15–20 min via 121/635). For many Grapevine families, Carrollton is simply the closer and more convenient option. For families where neither commute is workable, our statewide virtual IOP is clinically equivalent to in-person IOP.

Which campus should my Grapevine family choose?

Clinically, there is no difference. Operationally, for south and east Grapevine, Carrollton is usually closer. For north and west Grapevine (toward Grapevine Lake / Southlake), Fort Worth may be a similar commute. Our admissions team will help you think through the choice during the free phone assessment.

Will GCISD count PHP time as excused absences?

In most cases, yes. Medical treatment in a licensed behavioral health program is an excused absence category in GCISD, and HHB (Home/Hospital-Bound) status is available for stays of four or more weeks. Our academic coordinator sends documentation directly to the school counselor upon admission.

Does my teen’s treatment stay confidential with Grapevine-area teachers?

Yes. HIPAA protects your teen’s treatment information. We share with your teen’s school only through your written release, and only the minimum required for academic coordination — typically a medical excuse form with dates, not diagnoses or clinical details.

Does BCBS Texas cover teen PHP for Grapevine families?

Yes. BCBSTX is the most common payer among our Grapevine families; PHP and IOP are covered medical services under most commercial PPO, HMO, and BlueChoice plans. Copay, coinsurance, and deductible vary by plan. Free benefits verification within 24 hours.

Does my American Airlines insurance cover teen PHP at Clearfork?

American Airlines employees typically have UnitedHealthcare coverage with UBH/Optum as the behavioral health carve-out. UHC covers teen PHP and IOP as medical services under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. Actual in-network status, copay, and deductible vary by plan tier. Our admissions team will run a free benefits check within 24 hours.

Will Clearfork require my teen to engage in Christian practices?

No. Clearfork is Christ-centered in founding philosophy but clinical care is delivered without requiring spiritual engagement. Teens are never required to pray, attend chapel, or engage with religious content. Faith integration is opt-in via a specific track for families who want it; other families receive fully secular clinical care.

How fast can my Grapevine teen start PHP?

Often within 48–72 hours. Phone assessment (same day), insurance verification (24 hours), admission interview (24–48 hours after verified benefits), then start. Acute clinical need is prioritized for same-week admission.
