Michelle Tengowski

Director of Operations Cleburne

She currently serves as the Director of Operations at the Cleburne campus, where she is honored to support both the team and the adolescents they serve. Her journey in this field began in 2018 as a Recovery Support Peer Specialist (RSPS) intern, volunteering in local Juvenile Justice facilities. After becoming a certified RSPS, she joined Clearfork Academy’s boys’ campus in 2019 as a “Recovery Coach.” Within a little over a year, she was promoted to Shift Manager.

In 2022, she transitioned to the Cleburne campus to help build something new—providing specialized care and support for teenage girls. In 2024, she completed the required coursework to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and currently holds her LCDC-I.

Her passion for this work is deeply personal. At 14, she survived a church shooting that resulted in the tragic loss of friends and left her with significant trauma. In the aftermath, she turned to substances as a way to cope. At that time, there were no treatment options available to her as an adolescent, and she had to wait until she turned 18 to enter a Residential Treatment Center.

Because of that experience, her purpose is clear: to ensure that no adolescent girl wanting to heal must wait. She is committed to creating spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to overcome both trauma and substance use, and to build a future filled with hope.
